Avignon is a fantastic base for motorcycle tours: it’s only about 50 miles from this charming city to the Mediterranean coast. Here, expect to find winding coast roads and impressive panoramas. Inland, the countryside is at least as beautiful: tourists hail Provence as one of the most popular regions of France. Its profuse lavender fields are world-famous and a feast for the senses, especially when in bloom in the summer months.
