Rent a motorcycle in Avignon with Rent A Ride
The city of Avignon in the South of France is world-renowned because of the song “Sur le Pont d'Avignon”. However, Avignon has a great deal more to offer than the bridge in this song, the Pont Saint-Bénezet: this city on the Rhône is well worth a visit -– and the best way to do this is on a BMW motorbike.
On your motorcycle, you can explore Avignon at your own pace, while being right in the midst of the city’s beating heart. Let the countless historic buildings guide you on a trip through time: in the Middle Ages, Avignon was the “City of Popes”, and therefore of huge political and cultural significance. Today, the Gothic Popes’ Palace in the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see for anyone visiting the city. The two and a half-mile-long city wall with its 39 towers is also an impressive sight. The former moats of the fortifications have now been filled in and turned into car parks, offering a great start and finish point for your trips.

Hire a motorcycle: explore Avignon and Provence
Avignon is a fantastic base for motorcycle tours: it’s only about 50 miles from this charming city to the Mediterranean coast. Here, expect to find winding coast roads and impressive panoramas. Inland, the countryside is at least as beautiful: tourists hail Provence as one of the most popular regions of France. Its profuse lavender fields are world-famous and a feast for the senses, especially when in bloom in the summer months.
Bikers are attracted to the region primarily due to its mountainous landscape: the Alpilles lie south of Avignon, while the Monts d'Ardèche are located north of the city. Both regions are equally popular holiday destinations for motorcyclists, due to the views and, above all, the winding roads. Less well-known but equally breathtaking are the roads in the Drôme department, which is also immediately north of Avignon. Above all, the route around the Combe Laval is one of the most exciting stretches in the Alps and an absolute must for the biking enthusiast.
